Code of conduct
Fifty thousand people in one building for three days works because everyone agrees to a few things. Here they are.
Respect
Comicpalooza is for everyone. Harassment, discrimination, threats, stalking, unwanted photography or recording, and disruption of panels or the floor are not tolerated. Anyone who makes the weekend unsafe for someone else loses their badge without a refund, and may be removed by the venue or the police.
Cosplay is not consent
Ask before you photograph. Ask before you touch. A costume is not an invitation, and neither is a character. If someone says no, that is the end of it.
Prop weapons
Every prop is inspected and peace-bonded at the entrance. No functional weapons of any kind, no metal blades, no projectiles, nothing that fires, and nothing that could be mistaken for a real firearm. Props may be refused at the door at the discretion of security. Footwear is required everywhere in the building.
Photography and recording
Personal photography is welcome on the floor. Recording in panels and on the main stage is allowed unless the panel says otherwise; some guest panels do not allow recording, and the sign at the door is the rule. Media credentials are required for professional coverage.
Badges and lines
Badges are worn and visible at all times. Lines form where staff say they form; saving spots for groups is not allowed; a line that is closed is closed.
Sales and promotion
Selling, soliciting or distributing materials outside of a contracted booth or table is not permitted.
Reporting
Tell any staff member, go to the Information desk, or write to info@comicpalooza.com. In an emergency, call 911 and then tell staff.
